The Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation is once again pleased to offer senior high school 4-H members and current college students the opportunity to apply for an Opportunity Scholarship. Texas 4-H members can apply for scholarships in three areas, baccalaureate, courageous heart, and technical. Former Texas 4-H members will be able to apply for scholarships through the collegiate scholarship program.
Changes for the 2019 Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship Process:
- All applications (except collegiate) must be submitted through 4-H CONNECT.
Reminders:
- Applicants must work directly with their school administrators to ensure they have quartile ranking for their application. A quartile ranking is required to be considered for a Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship.
- Any incomplete or incorrect application submitted will not be considered. It is the responsibility of the 4-H member and parent/guardian to ensure all information is correct and complete prior to submitting. Absolutely no follow up or updates will be allowed once submitted.

- The attachments will be offered in Microsoft Word Edition no later than November 9th.
Due dates and deadlines for 2019 Scholarship process are as follows:
November 2018 – January 2019 Applicant complete FAFSA
Set by County Office Application due to County Office
February 1, 2019 County Review and 4-H Connect Approval Deadline*
February 15, 2019 District Review and 4-H Connect Approval Deadline*
April 12, 2019 Interview selection notification
May 3-5, 2019 Interviews in College Station
June 11-13, 2019 Awards Assembly in College Station
*The status of “APPROVED” on 4-H CONNECT simply means that the information was submitted. It does not indicate eligibility or awarding of a scholarship.
Requirements for the Baccalaureate, Technical, and Courageous Heart Scholarships
All applications MUST meet the minimum requirements/criteria to even be considered for judging (see guidelines for complete details). Those applications not meeting the requirements should not be approved in 4-H CONNECT by the County Extension Agent.
