2018 Ag Law Year in Review
Well, it’s been quite a year for agricultural law! Looking back, it has been interesting to see the variety of legal issues that have come up in the last 365 days. From a major class action settlement by Syngenta to new electronic logging device rules to nuisance litigation in North Carolina, there are numerous issues of which agricultural producers should be aware. If you want to hear more about these topics, Paul Goeringer and I did a Year in Review joint podcast. You can listen here. {Since we… Read More →

November 2, 2018 Weekly Round Up
Last week, I traveled to beautiful Portland, Oregon for the 39th Annual American Agricultural Law Association Conference. On Monday, I’ll be sharing some highlights and emerging legal issues we discussed at that event. One quick note before we get into the Round Up. The blog I posted on Monday discussing legal issues surrounding the death of a ranch hand went viral on social media. Thanks to those of you who shared and retweeted! This is clearly an issue you all are interested in, and rightly so. If you… Read More →

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Independence Day! My family celebrated with a small town parade here in the Texas Panhandle, which our two little ones really enjoyed! Despite the day off, it has been a busy news week for agricultural law. *Concho River Watermaster warns permit holders that curtailments may occur. The Concho Watermaster sent letters to water rights holders this week that if drought conditions persist and a senior water rights holder makes a priority call, curtailment could occur. Further, the letter requires receiving approval prior… Read More →
