Breyden went to the Olympic Trials

Here is an update on how Breyden did in the Olympic trials part 2 in Arizona in Feb/March 2020.   Breyden competes in Olympic Trap.  The trials started with the individual men and woman competition.  Breyden did not do as well as he wanted.  Bearing in mind that he is competing against the best in our Nation most a lot older and with a lot more experience I believe he did ok.  At the time of the trials, Breyden had only been competing in the Olympic Trap disciple for 9 months…  the experience taught him a lot about himself and the importance of game theory and mental management – all which will only benefit him in life.

 

But,  he ended the trials with a “bang”!

Breyden shoots mix doubles with a young lady from Longview, Texas, her name is Nicole Manhave. She is an x 4-H‘r and is part of our national team.   The last day of the Trials they came away as the team with Highest Overall score,  beating numerous other teams, some comprised of former Olympians.  USA Shooting takes the top 3 teams and allows them to compete for medals.  Breyden and Nicole won the Silver! They lost the Gold by one bird.  Breyden was the youngest competitor in the final round and also the only one not a member of our U.S. National or a Military Marksman Team.

 

Breyden is a member of the Spring-Klein 4-H Shooting Club.   Breyden was set to compete in the Junior Olympics and U.S. Nationals, both which have been canceled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  He still is however practicing and will be ready to compete once everything goes back to normal.

One Day 4-H:
Blue Ribbon 4-H and Two Hearts help out their communities 
(October 12, 2019)

Blue Ribbon 4-H spent one day 4-H at the Tomball Farmers Market educating the public on Agriculture and how youth can get involved with zag and 4-H. They had a spin the wheel game with myths about Ag and also had a goat and rabbits to pet. (Top photos)

Two Hearts participated in One Day 4-H by helping pack 18,000 lunches for Houston kids in need. Lunch boxes included juice box, pretzels, granola bar, and peanut butter. (Bottom Photos)

Alliance Financial Ministries is a company that promotes financial literacy to schools, businesses, churches and organizations with financial education through seminars and workshops.

Why was this project important to the community?

• The project was important because some kids going back to school can’t afford school supplies, and supplies are important tools used in the classroom to make learning fun and easy.

How did you make an impact in the              community?

• I made an impact by providing kids with the supplies they need during the school year and hopefully allowing them to succeed in the classroom and outside the classroom.

SER Niños II Elementary Kicks Off
Learn, Grow, Eat & GO! Project
(Oct. 2, 2015)

Fifth graders at SER Niños Elementary began their journey toward healthy eating and greater science knowledge with the first activity in the Learn, Grow, Eat & GO! curriculum, the “Know & Show  Sombrero.” Through a fun hat decorating activity, the lesson demonstrated what plants need and how they support people and animals.
