Montgomery County 4-H is committed to supporting local educators in their efforts to promote experiential learning in the classroom. As part of our commitment, each summer we provide teacher training programs designed to equip educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to facilitate hands-on and project-based learning. Through these training programs, Montgomery County 4-H aims to empower educators to inspire and engage their students and to foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

We are offering these trainings during the summer:

 

Junior Master Gardener – 6 CPE Hours

Calling all elementary teachers! Get ready for a hands-on training event that will have you digging into the world of Junior Master Gardening! You’ll be exposed to a variety of fun and engaging activities that are based on TEKS standards and learn some innovative and sustainable methods for building school garden programs that are easy to maintain. Come join us for a day of learning and fun as we explore the world of gardening together!

K – 5th STEM- 6 CPE Hours

We will again be offering a 6-hour training here in Conroe at the Montgomery County Extension Office. This year will feature science content combined with math. And to make it even more useful, several districts including Conroe, New Caney and Willis ISD have been approving them to fulfill GT refresher hours, so we are hopeful that will be the case again. If you have not attended previously, we walk through the lessons and make the day a collaborative session. You walk away with lessons you can incorporate next year as they do meet your TEKs in an engaging, hands-on way. And if you have attended previously, the lessons will be new ones.

A $25 ticket includes your lunch. Registration is now available on Eventbrite. Should you end up needing to switch dates, we can manage that (on the backend) without you needing to go back through the website. All of these will feature the same content:
