The Montgomery County 4-H Awards Program is designed to recognize the accomplishments of 4-H’ers for their project work, leadership skills, personal growth and development and participation in various 4-H sponsored activities.

The Awards Program is coordinated in conjunction with the Texas 4-H and National 4-H Awards Programs. All three groups provide donors or funds for various scholarships, trips, medals and other awards.

By learning good record-keeping skills, members are able to reflect on the growth and development they have experienced in 4-H. Solid competitive record books lead to solid competitive scholarship applications. Record books that are entered for competition will be due to the 4-H Office in June.you have worked hard all year completing your projects, doing service for the community and helping others grow and learn. If you don’t write it down, all of that work will fade in your memory and the details and information you will need down the road will be lost.

STAR Awards – IMEA's STAR Education Program    Gold, Silver, & Bronze

GOLD STAR

The Gold Star Award is the highest county achievement award and intended to be received only once in a
member’s 4-H career. Counties have award quotas based on the number of senior 4-H members. This award
will be presented to the most deserving youth.

SILVER STAR

The Silver Star Award will be presented each year to a maximum of three outstanding intermediate members.
The actual number of Silver Star Awards given will be decided by the selection committee, based on the
merits of the applicants.

The selection is based on quality of project work, involvement in club programs and activities, and future goals
for the member’s 4-H career.

BRONZE STAR

The Bronze Star Award will be presented each year to a maximum of two outstanding junior members. The
actual number Bronze Star Awards given will be decided by the selection committee, based on the
merits of the applicants.

The selection is based on quality of project work, involvement in club programs and activities, and future goals
for the member’s 4-H career.
