The photography project encourages self-expression and teaches proper use of photographic equipment and developing processes. Photography provides opportunities for career exploration and exploring 4-H.
There are many ways to get involved with the photography project. Many clubs have active photography projects. Contests include, but are not limited to:
District 4-H Photography Contest
In the District 4-H Photography Contest, members may submit one entry per division/class for a total of 4 entries per person. Divisions/Classes include: People, Animals-Wildlife, Animals-Domestic, Marine/Aquatic, Elements of Design. These entries are submitted completely digitally. Visit the District 9 4-H Photography Website for more details.
State 4-H Photography Contest
The State Photography Contest rules and guidelines are now available at http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/photography-video/. This contest is for senior aged 4-H members. A county may only have 1 entry per class, so there may be a judging process at the county level before the photo entries can advance to state.
