Robotics Team

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

The new Lockheed Martin 4-H Robotics Team will begin their work meetings next Tuesday, January 23rdMeeting are scheduled to be held every Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will take place at the Extension office.  If you have not been to the office before, please visit this link for directions.  This is a year round team and breaks will be scheduled as needed by the coaches and team.  Absences, while understandable, should be avoided and regular attendance is strongly encouraged to meet the expectations of our coaches.  Members will also need to be fully registered in 4-H Connect before the first working meeting and remain active in their community club.  Your club managers will be asked to confirm your participation at club meetings and events.

Our volunteer coaches from Lockheed Martin are excited to start working on robots with the 4-H members.  The first competition that team members will be able to participate in will be the GEAR Robotics challenge in Arlington.  A date is not scheduled but should take place in either March or April.  The team will also send members to compete at State Roundup in June.  This will lead up to competing in the 2018 FIRST Tech challenge in August.

If you have not yet signed up and wish to participate, please use the Robotics Team Registration form to do so.

Remember parents, there will be work for you as well as we build a base of support for the team.  Misters Drew, Mark, and Josh are here to coach and mentor the youth with their engineering work.  Parents will be required to contribute with logistical and organizational help on this project.

Thank you and lets start building some robots!
