4-H GLOBE Program

Sent

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

I am sharing a unique program with you that Dr. Darlene Locke runs from College Station.

Do you like working on social issues?

Do you like working with animals?

Do you want to travel nationally and internationally?

Do you want to learn about other communities?

Do you want to lead a community service project to help your neighbors?

Then GLOBE is a great program that will allow you to do all of these things.

The Global Leadership Opportunities Beyond Education experience is a two year program.  In year one, 4-H members learn about social issues, travel to Arkansas to visit the Heifer International Ranch, and are encouraged to develop and lead their own community service projects.  Members who successfully complete these assignments by October 31st, 2018 are invited to participate in year two which will include international travel to continue learning and more great opportunities to make the best better!

Cost for year one is $250 and is limited to 40 participants.  Members must be in grades 6th to 12th.  Participants in year one do not have to participate in year two if they do not wish to.

Please see the attached flyer or watch the GLOBE Announcement Video.  You may be required to download the WebEx viewer.

For more information contact the county Extension staff or Dr. Locke at dlocke@ag.tamu.edu.
