Driving to our Offices

Tarrant County 4-H, as part of the Extension office, is located at the Tarrant County Plaza Building in downtown Fort Worth.  This building is rather uniquely designed and can be confusing for the first-time visitor.  While our official address places us on Taylor St., the entrance to the building faces Burnett St. and the entrance to the parking lot is on West 2nd St.  The easiest way to visit us is to use the following address or link for your navigation app.

500 W 2nd St.

Fort Worth, TX

76102

500 W 2nd St.

This will take you to the entrance of the parking lot.  Please read below for information regarding parking validation.

To further confuse matters, Google does not recognize the United States Postal zip code that our building is designated with as our official mailing address, so please do not use either of the official addresses below.

Parking at our Offices

When you visit the Extension office you will be required to park either on the street at metered parking or in surface lot in front of our building.  If the purpose of your visit is to attend a 4-H meeting, project meeting, training, or volunteering in the office before 6 p.m., then you may use the surface lot and we will provide you with parking validation.  If you are dropping off or picking up paperwork, supplies, or otherwise making a quick stop at the office; please park on the street as we cannot validate your parking and metered parking is much cheaper than the surface lot for these quick visits.

If your activity at the Extension office takes place in the evening after 6 p.m. or on the weekend, then please park on the street no matter the purpose of your visit.  After 6 p.m. and on the weekend, you do not need to pay the meters. The surface lot attached to our building is managed by a third-party vendor.  By parking on the street, you allow the Extension office and Tarrant County to save money by not compensating the vendor for the parking that we use.

If you will be making frequent visits to the Extension office and using the metered parking, Fort Worth does have an app that allows you to pay the meters with your phone.  This app can be found in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store or on the FW Parking App page.
