Invitational Wool Judging Contest
2024 Contest Rules
Location: Bell County EXPO Exposition Building – Belton, Texas
Date: Friday, February 9, 2024
Entry Fee: Pre-registration is $10/contestant available only on Judging Card; No on-site registration will be accepted. Chapter Advisors and County Extension Agents can enter teams through http://www.judgingcard.com.
Registration: 7:30 to 8:15 AM; Livestock Exposition Building
Contest Begins: 8:30 AM
Contest Results and Awards: Immediately following tabulation.

The contest is open to all 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters in Texas. Individuals who wish to compete without a team are also welcome. Teams may consist of three or four members, with the three highest scores being used. The number of teams entered per chapter/club is unlimited.
The Wool Evaluation Contest may consist of the following:
- 30 Fleece Rail
- 6 classes with questions
Special Rules:
There will be thirty (30) minutes to evaluate the rail and fifteen (15) minutes per class. No talking, cell phone usage, or cheating will be tolerated during the contest. Scantrons will be provided by the Bell County Youth Fair at registration.
**Rules of Texas FFA Wool Evaluation will be followed**
Awards will be as follows:
- Buckles will be awarded to the 1st place team members and the 1st place high point individual
- A banner will be awarded to the 2nd – 5th place teams and 2nd-5th place individuals
- A ribbon will be awarded to the 6th-10th place individuals.
