Business Planning and Tax Management Workshop for Farmers and Ranchers

Producers in South Texas have an opportunity to gain valuable insight into financial management, tax planning, and pasture management at the upcoming Business Planning and Tax Management Workshop for Farmers and Ranchers.

This workshop brings together specialists and industry professionals to discuss key issues facing agricultural producers, including financial decision-making, cattle markets, tax considerations, and pasture management.

The workshop will be held on April 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service District 12 Office located at 2415 East Business 83 in Weslaco. This program is free to attend, and participants will have the opportunity to earn 2 General CEUs.

Topics Designed for Today’s Producers

The workshop will be held on April 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service District 12 Office located at 2415 East Business 83 in Weslaco. This program is free to attend, and participants will have the opportunity to earn 2 General CEUs.

Program topics will include:

  • USDA Farm Service Agency Loan Programs, including available financial assistance opportunities for producers.
  • Cattle Price Perspectives, offering insight into current market conditions and outlooks.
  • Financial Distress Strategies, Cattle Performance Analysis, and Tax Implications for Producers, helping producers better understand how financial performance and tax planning intersect.
  • Agricultural Finance, Tax, and Asset Protection (AgFTAP) Introduction, providing an overview of tools designed to help producers protect assets and improve financial management.
  • Business Planning and Taxes for Farmers and Ranchers, covering essential tax strategies and planning considerations.
  • Weed Control in Improved Pastures and Hay Meadows, focusing on effective weed management practices.
  • Brush and Pasture Management, discussing practical strategies for maintaining productive grazing land.

These topics are designed to provide practical, real-world information that producers can take home and apply to their operations.
