Tarrant County 4-H ALA Clover Campaign – 2022

Sent,

Dear Tarrant County 4-Hers,

In addition to providing scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors and sponsoring the year-end Awards Recognition Event, the Tarrant 4-H Adult Leader’s Association (ALA) also provides encouragement, guidance, and financial support to the County Youth Council (CYC) as it pursues its mission to encourage county-wide participation in CYC activities and events.  However, as the ALA has no regular source of funding, we are continually seeking sponsors.   Without continued sponsorship, we may find ourselves lacking future funding for scholarships or recognition events.

Sponsors may use their personal PayPal account, sending their donation to tarrant4hala@gmail.com (selecting the Friends and Family option). For those preferring to make a donation via check, please make them payable to, ‘Tarrant 4-H ALA’ and mail to Tarrant 4-H ALA, 200 Taylor Street, #500; Fort Worth, TX 76196.   Please see attached flyer for additional information.

Any amounts received over current budget needs will be used for future growth of our programming. Unless otherwise requested, all donations will be recognized at the year-end Awards Reception. Please see attached flyer for additional information.

Should your employer offer an opportunity to make charitable contributions through payroll deduction, we will happily provide you the information needed to make that happen. Also, if you have corporate contacts that might be looking for a great way to get involved in 4-H, feel free to contact them and then share their information with the ALA.

The ALA has 501(c)3 designation and would be happy to provide a donation letter to any individual, club, or corporate sponsor.

Thank you for helping the youth of Tarrant County 4-H Make the Best Better!  Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

4-H New Year 2022-2023

Sent,

Dear 4-H Managers and Volunteers,

Happy New 4-H Year 2022-2023!  To start the year off right, I wanted to make sure everyone was up to date on some important points:

Here is the link to register on 4-H Online: https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in

The activity reports have been updated for the year. This year we will have a Club Activity Report that can be used for club and group activities.  You should still use sign in sheets at meetings to capture attendance.  The form has been streamlined to make it easier to report your totals from group events.  We will also have an Individual Activity Report that both members and adults can use to report 4-H activities.  I encourage adult and youth volunteers to log project preparation or club management time in the individual report.  These reports can also be found in the 2022/23 folder which is on the Links & Forms page of our website.

I encourage managers and volunteers to report as much activity that they can.  Please share these forms with your clubs as well.  The more information we capture about our program, the better we can represent our program to stake holders.  And please remember, that every club is required to make at least one report of club activity every month.

Please remind your families to register in 4-H Online as soon as possible so that they can stay on top of broadcast email from the County.  And please remind them to register for any and all projects that they would like to receive information for.  Members do not have to participate in the projects that they register for in 4-H Online, just have an interest in them so that we can get them the right information to meet their needs.

If you or one of your families is not receiving broadcast emails from the county, here are some steps to take to try and fix the problem:

  • Check and make sure that your family profile and personal profiles in 4-H Online have the proper email address.
  • Check that your family profile allows you to accept broadcast emails.  To check family settings click Edit Family next to the family name above the member list.  And then click on the Family Settings
  • Some email servers tend to filter out the broadcast emails from 4-H Online.  Servers that are particularly bad for doing this are att.net, swbell.net, sbcglobal.net, and other telecommunication servers.  Members with these servers have found it helpful to delete their email in 4-H Online, save, close their 4-H Online account, reopen their account, and renter their email.  Others have gone through the process of opening a Gmail or other free email account and having that account forward all email to their preferred account.

Our next County Youth Council meeting is September 26, 2022, at 6:30p-7:30p, also there will be an ALA at the same time.

Thank you,

Kate Marshall
