Dear 4-H Members and Families,
As we are gearing up for the start of the Stock show season there are a few things that we need to make sure we have while packing to go the shows.
- First and foremost – you and the project!!!
- If your animal is a registered animal, be sure that you take your original registration papers!!!
- DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PROJECT’S TATTOOS!!! If you are showing a heifer, double check to make sure the tattoos match the papers.
- If you are showing a market animal, make sure the 220 tattoo is legible. If they are not, we need to get them redone ASAP!!!! We have received an email from the state validation offices stating they will be checking tattoos this year. All placing livestock that do not have a visible and/or legible tattoo will be DISQUALIFIED at Texas major livestock shows.
If a tattoo needs to be redone, please let me know ASAP and we will set up a time and place to get this done!!
