4-H Dog Project

Sent,

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

Do you have a dog that can sit, lay down, stay, and heel on leash, on command?  Want to win an embroidered chair or blanket or trophies and ribbons at a 4-H dog show?  Then come join the Tarrant County 4-H Dog Project.

If you are between 9 and 18 years old with a dog that is at least 6 months old of any breed, then you are eligible.

We meet the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30pm – 6:30pm in the family life center at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church.  We will be learning to compete in obedience and rally obedience this year.  We will also be working on a group drill routine with our dogs to perform at the 4-H state dog show July 8-9, 2022 in Huntsville.  Community service opportunities performing our drill at area Assisted Livings, will happen in the spring.

Showing dogs in 4-H is tons of fun.  The 2 girls that started last year won 2nd and 4th place last year.   During the last year I have won a zero gravity lounge chair for top all around at Wise County, 3 First Place Trophies at State, and High Score for Obedience and first place at Montgomery County’s show.

For more information on the state dog show see https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/dog-care-training/

Please contact Renee Raschio at EVpoodle@gmail.com for more information and to arrange a time for a one-on-one assessment before our next meeting.
