Dear 4-H Members and Families,
We have a couple of opportunities for community service. Please see the details below.
Barn Re-opening
The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is looking for some wonderful 4-H members to help open their renovated barns. Stefan Marchman, the Livestock Manager, requested 3 or 4 of our Senior members to come down to the Will Rogers Complex on Monday, December 10th and serve as tour guides to the barns during the official re-opening ceremony. Volunteers would need to arrive at 1 p.m. and would be provided information and talking points to discuss with visitors.
If you have shown animals at the Fort Worth Stock Show or TCJLS, enjoy public speaking, and would like to show your gratitude to Mr. Marchman and the FWSSR, please consider volunteering for this unique experience. If you are interested, please confirm that you can serve that day and contact me directly.
Alpaca Show
Melissa Lehew is looking for 4-H members who can help during the TXOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular Alpaca Show. The show takes place February 15th to 17th. She will need volunteers who can serve as ring stewards, gatekeepers, assistants, and other positions. Senior members or members who are mature enough to work without parental supervision will be needed for this service. If you are interested in alpacas or in the logistics of running a livestock show, please consider volunteering.
If you are interested, please contact Ms. Lehew at 214-558-1204 or dmlehaw@hotmail.com.
If you have any questions regarding either event, please contact myself or Jacklyn Jones at Jacklyn.jones@ag.tamu.edu.
Thank you.
