Tarrant County 4-H ALA Clover Campaign – 2022

Sent,

Dear Tarrant County 4-Hers,

In addition to providing scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors and sponsoring the year-end Awards Recognition Event, the Tarrant 4-H Adult Leader’s Association (ALA) also provides encouragement, guidance, and financial support to the County Youth Council (CYC) as it pursues its mission to encourage county-wide participation in CYC activities and events.  However, as the ALA has no regular source of funding, we are continually seeking sponsors.   Without continued sponsorship, we may find ourselves lacking future funding for scholarships or recognition events.

Sponsors may use their personal PayPal account, sending their donation to tarrant4hala@gmail.com (selecting the Friends and Family option). For those preferring to make a donation via check, please make them payable to, ‘Tarrant 4-H ALA’ and mail to Tarrant 4-H ALA, 200 Taylor Street, #500; Fort Worth, TX 76196.   Please see attached flyer for additional information.

Any amounts received over current budget needs will be used for future growth of our programming. Unless otherwise requested, all donations will be recognized at the year-end Awards Reception. Please see attached flyer for additional information.

Should your employer offer an opportunity to make charitable contributions through payroll deduction, we will happily provide you the information needed to make that happen. Also, if you have corporate contacts that might be looking for a great way to get involved in 4-H, feel free to contact them and then share their information with the ALA.

The ALA has 501(c)3 designation and would be happy to provide a donation letter to any individual, club, or corporate sponsor.

Thank you for helping the youth of Tarrant County 4-H Make the Best Better!  Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Quality Counts Course – Reminder for Livestock Exhibitors!

Sent,

Hello Tarrant County 4-H,

This is a reminder that Quality Counts is open and ready for youth who need to take the course for the first time or renew their verification. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Exhibitors only have to take the course once per grade level division: Junior 3-5, Intermediate 6-8, Senior 9-12.

If you have already taken it once for your age division, no action is needed.  If you are moving up in your age division (going from 5th into 6th grade or 8th going into 9th grade) or are brand new to showing need to complete this.   Quality Counts must be entered and completed by December 31, 2022.

Quality Counts verification is required for all major livestock show exhibitors. The number must be used on major livestock show entries (therefore, it is important that exhibitors complete this before entry). Our County show, Tarrant County Junior Livestock Show and Youth Fair (TCJLS) also requires Quality Counts.

Information: Hurricane Relief for Florida 4-H Clubs

Sent,

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

We have gotten some requests from other states as to how 4-H programs could assist in 4-H related relief related to the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian. Currently we have two support options:

  1. Short time supply drive (Items can be mailed directly to the hardest hit area of Fort Myers, FL)
  2. A monetary donation drive. The funds of this will support mini-grants to support 4-H project related loss to 4-H members, clubs, and county 4-H programs.

Complete information can be found at:  4-H Serves Florida: Hurricane Ian relief supply drive and support opportunities – UF/IFAS Extension (ufl.edu)

Thank you,

Jordan Peldyak
