** If you do not have 4-H Horse Project Responsibilities, please disregard.**
Dear 4-H Members and Families,
First …. Thank you to everyone that made the Horse Validations get through the system this year with the new V2 Online. I appreciate you all taking the time with the reminders and helping the families get their projects corrected. The District IV 4-H Horse Show is scheduled to be held June 16-17, 2021 at the Hopkins County Expo Center Pavilion Arena, Sulphur Springs, TX. Early move in can start on Tuesday, June 15th at 3 pm. Agents please carefully review the attached information and provide the packet to 4-H members/families so that they can register for the event. 4H Online is open today (May 10, 2021). If we see any errors in the entries coming in on line we will reach out to you to help the families fix or make corrections. This biggest area to make sure of is to PLEASE print down your list of approved horse projects AND their horse NAMES. This year the way V2 was set up if you have a family where more than 1 child rides the same horse, they were not able to list those family members. There will be a lot of double checking but it would really help out if you would double check the NAME OF THE HORSE to the NAME OF THE FAMILY before submitting them onto district level. IF you have any questions please email Carrie or Amanda and they can help decipher through.
Attached is the District IV 4-H Horse Show Packet, Schedule, and Sponsorship form. For the Sponsorships, we are looking not only for monetary sponsorships but also product sponsorship to give to the kids at the show for prizes. If you have any questions on the show packet provided please email Carrie or Amanda.

2021 District IV 4H Horse Show Memo
The District will offer 22 classes in the Show. For the Qualifying Division we are offering Western Judged, Hunter Flat, Speed, Futurity and Halter. A 4-H-er must show in at least one class in a Division in order to ‘qualify’ for the State 4-H Horse Show in that particular division. A futurity project horse must be shown at District in order to qualify for a futurity division at the State Show. The Stock Horse Division is not a Qualifying Division and so they youth if they so choose can do onto state competition. The Cox Boxing class will be down by a Mechanical “Cow” that Ralph Davis-CEA-Ag & NR will be running. This will offer continuity in the class and also be great for new beginners in the class. He will be part of the Pre- Show Clinic. Be sure to review the entire packet to see how the divisions are grouped and many more details on all the changes. We rely on the agents to pass ALL pertinent information on to the 4-H’ers so that they are prepared to register for the District and State Horse Shows.
Coming back to the District Horse Show is the “Paid Warm Ups” for trail and we are looking at the option of the “Paid Warms Ups” for the “Cow”. More information on these two events will come BUT they will take place on Wednesday, June 16th, in the late afternoon.
We will have a concession stand at the show this year. Ms. Pat will not be serving lunch this year, she will be on the arena floor for Thursday helping you all but we will be making snacks to keep you all functioning.
Again, if you have any questions please email Carrie Sharp, CEA-4-H-Kaufman County or Amanda Parks, CEA-4-H-Collin County.
