Final Reminder

Sent

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

This is the final reminder that starting September 1st, all broadcast emails will be sent only to members registered for the 2018-19 year. Please see the attached email that went out last week. Feel free to contact the office if you need assistance getting registered. Thank you to all of our families that have registered already. And please forward this to friends that are considering joining 4-H themselves.

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

The official start of the coming 2018-19 4-H year is September 1st, but registration is already open in 4-H Connect.

As families go online and join for the first time or renew, I would like for everyone to keep a few things in mind:

  • If you are a returning member, please make sure you DO NOT create a duplicate profile. Log in to your family profile, click on a member or parent, then scroll to the bottom of their profile and click Enroll for 2018-19.
  • Please confirm that all profile information is correct for every member.
  • Make sure the grade level for members is correct.
  • When you get to the Participation page, please add all clubs that your members will be active in or you will be volunteering with.
  • Still on the Participation page, please add all projects that you or your members are interested in receiving information about through broadcast emails from the county.
  • If you are enrolling a youth for the first time and they are in 3rd grade, please wait until after September 1st. Enrolling for the first time in August as a 3rd grader may result in the youth being a Clover kid for the year.

We will continue to use 4-H Connect and the projects each member and volunteer registers for to send out blast emails. For the next two weeks, we will work with last year’s membership list to send emails. Starting September 1st all broadcast emails will be targeted to members registered for the 2018-19 year. Please register by September 1st in order not to miss out on any information.

Older members who have their own email accounts can receive broadcast emails along with their parents if they enter their email address into their member profile in 4-H Connect. I would encourage parents to consider doing this as it will allow your youth to monitor their own activities. When we send out broadcast emails, we will try to include both families and members, so parents will still receive the same emails.

We will continue to log all broadcast emails on our county website, Tarrant County 4-H, on the Email Log. This will allow families to explore current information on subject matters that they have not been receiving emails about. A note about the email log, we receive announcements from 4-H programs from across the state. We always push those from neighboring counties and from District IV out to our members. Other opportunities are on a case by case basis. Emails we receive but are not pushed forward to you, are also added to the email log and marked as Not Sent.

The 4-H staff of Tarrant County is excited to start the new 4-H year. Please see the Join webpage for more information and tutorial PDFs on how to use 4-H Connect. As always, reach out to us if you need any assistance with enrollment. Thank you for your attention to these details.
