Dear 4-H and FFA Livestock Community,
There will be a market turkey show at the Tarrant County Junior Livestock Show this year. In order to make the order deadline, we must submit a single county order and payment to the supplier by September 1st. To accommodate this quick turnaround, the Extension office will be collecting individual orders and payments.
- Please complete the attached form and deliver along with payment to Kent DeCardenas or Ana Murillo by Thursday, August 30th at 5 p.m. Late orders will not be accepted.
- Each turkey will cost $5 and cash or checks will be accepted. Checks must be made out the “4-H Adult Leaders Association”. Checks made out to the wrong entity will not be accepted.
- It is recommended that exhibitors order more than one turkey. This is a 5 month project and ordering multiple birds will give some protection against loss and allow for a selection at the time of the show.
- The turkeys are scheduled to be picked up from the supplier the first or second week of November. An email announcement will be sent out when the turkeys are ready to be picked up from a central location in Tarrant County. If you order a turkey, you will be required to pick up by a specified time on a specified date.
- All orders will be for hens. No toms will be shown at the TCJLS 2019 show.
- The turkeys in this order will only be eligible to be shown at TCJLS, not the Majors.
If you have any questions, contact the Extension office or Cody Davenport with Arlington Heights High School, Fort Worth ISD.
