State Photography

Sent

Dear 4-H Members and Families,

The State Photography contest is currently accepting entries in 4-H Connect.  If you are interested in entering, please do so before April 15th.

For senior members that wish to enter the state photography contest, please keep these points in mind:

  • Every senior member is encouraged to enter.
  • Entries will be accepted in 4-H Connect from April 1st to 11:59 p.m. on April 15th.
  • Once entered, you are not charged for the entry until approved by the staff of the Tarrant County Extension office and the State Extension office.
  • The cost is $10 per category that you enter.
  • If your entry is not accepted for any reason, you will not be charged.
  • Participants in the county contest may submit their photos from the county contest or different photos.
  • Tarrant County is allowed one entry per class for 15 total entries.
  • In the case of multiple entries in a class, the following criteria will determine which is sent forward to state:
    • If multiple entries are received from county contest participants, the member who received the highest score at the county contest in that class will be sent forward to state.
    • If multiple entries are received from county contest participants and non-participants, the county contest participant with the highest score at the county contest in that class will be sent forward to state.
    • If multiple entries are received and none of the members participated in the county contest for that class, the member who entered the state contest the earliest in 4-H Connect will be sent forward to state.
  • In past years, members with highest scoring photos at the county contest sometimes did not enter the state contest.  By encouraging everyone to enter, we almost guarantee that Tarrant County will be represented in all 15 classes and that more members will be able to participate.

If you have any questions, please contact the 4-H staff.  Thank you.
