Meat Judging Team

The Meat Judging Team consists of sophomore and junior students interested in the meat industry. In the spring, the junior team participates at the following contests: the National Western in Denver, CO; the Southwestern Exposition in Ft. Worth; and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in Houston. Following spring competition, the team hosts 4-H and FFA contests in March and April at the Rosenthal Meat Science & Technology Center. The senior meat team competes in three contests the following fall: the Excel Contest in Plainview; the American Royal in Emporia, KS; and the International in Sioux City, IA.
