There are two job opportunities for 4-H members that are 18 years of age or older to work at the Lake Brownwood Texas 4-H Center.
One opportunity is the Summer Camp Counselor. Individuals will:
- Act as a leader and chaperone for the youth assigned to their dorm.
- Assist with teaching educational and recreational programs
- Act as a chaperone with groups of various ages as they move around camp
- Assist with putting on activities such as team challenges, dances, water games and pool activities
- Work in kitchen, maintenance, or house-keeping as needed
- Teach educational sessions such as archery, rifle, kayaking, arts and crafts dance, challenge course, swimming, or others as identified.
Individuals applying must have successfully completed at least one year of college or other work by June 1, 2017, be available from middle of May to the middle of August (the camp will work around breaks and family time), be enthusiastic, creative, hardworking, and dependable and be able to get along with others and work as a team.
The second opportunity is the Counselor in Training Program. With this job responsibility, individuals will:
- Act as a leader and chaperone for the youth assigned to their dorm.
- Assist with teaching educational and recreational programs
- Act as a chaperone with groups of various ages as they move around camp
- Assist with putting on activities such as team challenges, dances, water games and pool activities
- Work in kitchen, maintenance, or house-keeping as needed
Individuals applying must be available from the end of June to the End of July, be First Aid/CPR certified, be enthusiastic, creative, hardworking and dependable, be able to get along with and work as a team.
