These two trainings are being conducted simultaneously at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood on November 19-20, 2016.
4-H Shooting Sports Hunting & Wildlife Coach Training
Register for the 4-H Hunting and Wildlife Coach Training to become a certified leader in your county. The training will cover all firearm types used in a 4-H Shooting Sports Hunting and Wildlife project; rifle, shotgun, archery, and muzzleloading. All participants will also receive the Texas Hunter Education Instructor Certification.
The 4-H certification allows:
- The adult coach to lead a 4-H group through a hunting project using live fire
- The adult coach to train a 4-H group to participate in the Hunting & Wildlife events at the 4-H State Games
4-H Shooting Sports Muzzleloading Coach Training
Register for the 4-H Muzzleloading Coach Training to become a certified coach in your county. This certification is available to any enrolled adult leader (21 years of age or older). The training is also available for enrolled adults 18-20 and enrolled youth 14-18 to become Assistant Coaches. The training will cover all firearm types used in a 4-H Shooting Sports Muzzleloading project; rifles, shotguns, and pistols.
Dates: November 19-20, 2016; the training will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and continue into that evening. Training will continue with breakfast on Sunday and end by 12:00 noon.
Location: Texas 4-H Conference Center on Lake Brownwood
Registration: Currently open on 4-H Connect. All registrants must be en rolled as 4-H adult volunteers on 4-H Connect and have a current Youth Protection background check. This process takes time to complete so begin now by working with your local county Extension office. Cost is $120/registrant which includes meals for Saturday lunch and supper, 4-H curriculum, and all shooting expendables.

Training: The training will include live firing of all firearm types on the range, shooting and coaching principles, curriculum training, 4-H basics, and more.
