General & Junior Show Rules
- Animal/Exhibitor Disqualification
- Animals must remain free and clear of all drug and chemcial residues while on Show grounds. Please note that elimination time (the time it takes for no drug residue to be found in the system) is typically longer than the labeled withdrawal time for most drugs
- Quality Counts
- A Quality Counts Verification number will be required on all junior market and breeding show entry forms
- Market Barrow Show
- All barrows must be Texas bred and have a valid CTBR certificate from the breeder of the hog.
- Market Lamb Show
- all lambs must have a valid TLBA tag issued from the breeder of their lamb in the lambs ear and recorded on validation paperwork at the time of validation and at the show.
- Jr. Breeding Gilt Show
- Purebred gilts only. Must show Texas bred on registration certificate. Must be state validated!
- Jr. CTBR Texas Stars Gilt Show
- ALL gilts must be state validated. Purebred & Crossbred division. CTBR certificates from breeder of pig required on all gilts! Sale is Tuesday, February 14! Must sell if selected!
- Jr. Breeding Sheep Show
- Rambouillet, Delaine, White Dorper, Dorper and Other Wool & Medium Wool Breeds.
- Jr. Boer Goat Show
- Must be state validated. Ownership deadline for papers Oct. l, 2016.
- Texas Stars Wether Dam Show
- All does must be state validated. No registration certificates necessary. Hair may not exceed 1.25 inches above the hock and knees. Sale on Saturday, February 6. Must sell if selected!
- Junior Heifer Show
- All heifers must be validated. Heifer validation will include online registration paper uploading and a physical validation with a county validation committee which will include DNA hair sampling.
- Ag Speaking Contest
- Students will be required to submit their manuscripts, statement of originality, and bibliographies on date of entry
- Ag Mechanics
- All projects that require a license plate to be DOT compliant must show in a trailer division. Projects will be re-classified upon arrival if necessary. Trailers will be split into Bumper Pull & Gooseneck Divisions.
- Junior Rabbit Show
- Entry deadline for ALL rabbit entries is January 3. Rabbit passes will be handed out at check-in, if coming for prior events, exhibitors may make arrangements with livestock office to pick them up in advance.
