Dr. Sora Ahn is an associate research scientist in the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center at El Paso. Her areas of expertise are in analysis of water resources planning and management, agricultural and water resources engineering, hydrology, environmental systems modeling. Her current research focuses on hydrological modeling and analysis the impacts of future climate change on the temporal and spatial variability of surface water and groundwater in the underlying alluvial aquifer of the agricultural area. She has conducted projects associated with sustainable water resources for irrigated agriculture in the river basin of a semi-arid region facing climate change and competing demand. This research is focused on quantifying the impact of climate variability on water availability by hydrologic modeling using SWAT and MODFLOW models and time series and spatial data analyses using Geographic Information System.
