The entomology project familiarizes youth with the insect world by studying, collecting and identifying various insects. Discover how helpful and harmful insects live, multiply, are controlled, and affect humans.


State Entomology ID Contest

Team of 3 or 4 4-H members
Identify selected insects and complete a written examination on insects. Questions will be selected primarily from “Study Materials for 4-H Entomology Contests.”

State Invitational Entomology Collection Contest

Introducing the Entomology Collection Contest for the 2014/2015 4-H year. During the 2013/2014 4-H year, all collections that meet the requirements will be judged at the state level, there will be no district contests. The collections will be judged during Roundup. It is the responsibility of the 4-Her to transport their collection to the HEEP Center, room 413 by 8am, June 9, 2015.
