The purpose of CIG is to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies in conjunction with agricultural production. CIG projects are expected to lead to the transfer of conservation technologies, management systems, and innovative approaches (such as market-based systems) to agricultural producers, into NRCS technical manuals and guides, or to the private sector. CIG generally funds pilot projects, field demonstrations, and on-farm conservation research. On-farm conservation research is defined as an investigation conducted to answer a specific applied conservation question using a statistically valid design while employing farm-scale equipment on farms, ranches or private forest lands.

The National Park Service (NPS) has awarded Texas a $12,318,047 Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund grant for historic preservation projects. The emergency grant program will address damage inflicted by Hurricane Harvey. The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is managing the grant program for the State of Texas. The Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund (HIM ESHPF) grant program is competitive. THC will award grants to qualified applicants and will coordinate with grantees and the NPS. These emergency grants do not require matching funds.

As part of the FY 2019 Appropriations Bill for NOAA, Congress directed Sea Grant to spend up to $2 million to initiate a highly migratory species (HMS) research initiative focused on HMS species in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, including the interactions between yellow-fin tuna and oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is actively seeking the participation of school districts and open-enrollment charter schools in the Lone Star STEM Pilot. Interested school districts and open-enrollment charter schools should submit a Letter of Interest (LOI). Based on LOI submissions, two types of potential grantees will be identified:
- Lone Star STEM Academy Pilot – Up to fifteen schools will be eligible to apply for Lone Star STEM Academy pilot grants of up to $50,000. Grantees will be expected to develop or expand a College and Career Readiness School Model (CCRSM) that focuses on STEM pathways, with an emphasis on computer science, cybersecurity, and 6-12 STEM education programs. Lone Star STEM Academy pilot schools will receive targeted technical assistance as well as professional development for teachers to gain certification to teach computer science and cybersecurity. Grantees will have access to Phase 2 grants of up to $15,000 and Phase 3 grants up to $15,000 if they meet fidelity of implementation requirements.
- Computer Science and Cybersecurity Professional Development – Up to fifteen additional schools will be selected as eligible to receive grants of up to $5,000 to support professional development activities that ensure staff are prepared and able to teach computer science, cybersecurity, and/or STEM education classes. They will also remain eligible for Phase 2 grants of up to $5,000 and Phase 3 grants of up to $5,000 based on fulfillment of grant requirements.

The purpose of CIG is to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies in conjunction with agricultural production. CIG projects are expected to lead to the transfer of conservation technologies, management systems, and innovative approaches (such as market-based systems) to agricultural producers, into NRCS technical manuals and guides, or to the private sector. CIG generally funds pilot projects, field demonstrations, and on-farm conservation research. On-farm conservation research is defined as an investigation conducted to answer a specific applied conservation question using a statistically valid design while employing farm-scale equipment on farms, ranches or private forest lands.

On March 23, 2018, Congress passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 (the Act), which established a new broadband loan and grant pilot program, now called the Rural eConnectivity Pilot Program (ReConnect Program). The Act appropriated a budget authority of $600,000,000 to be used on an expedited basis. One of the essential goals of the ReConnect Program is to expand broadband service to rural areas without sufficient broadband access, defined as 10 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and 1 Mbps upstream. The first round of applicants have three separate funding categories to choose from: 100 % loan, 50% loan/50% grant, or 100% grant.
