AMARILLO, TX (August 9-11, 2011)—The Randall County Extension Office, as well as the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Amarillo, TX served as meeting locations for the fifth session of the AgriLife Advanced Leadership Program Cohort I held on August 9-11, 2011. Focuses for participants included solving problems creatively, and leading groups through conflict and change. Dr. Galen Chandler, Regional Program Coordinator for the Texas AgriLife Extension Service District 1, provided a welcome at the Randall County Extension Office in Canyon. Day two convened with a presentation from Dr. Min Basadur, Professor of Innovation at McMaster University, focusing on solving problems creatively. Additionally, participant members from the Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory gave their advocacy presentation, including a tour of the laboratory located in Amarillo. Dr. Merna Jacobsen of Texas A&M University, concluded the session with her presentation focusing on leading groups through conflict and change. Session speakers were:
