Club Chartering/Re-Chartering for the 2025-2026 4-H Year is due June 20th, 2025! All clubs must charter or re-charter every year!

 

Volunteer ($10 fee) and Club Member enrollment/re-enrollment ($25) on 4-H Online for the 2025-2026 year begins August 15th, 2025! Volunteers and Club Members can ONLY enroll in chartered and approved 4-H Clubs. For more information on how to join, visit Join 4-H – Fort Bend 4-H

Club Disbandment:

  • Included for any club that will be disbanding.  Upon closure of the club, please provide the completed form to the Texas 4-H Office.

How to Charter/Re-Charter/Charter Requirement

25-26 Texas 4-H Chartering Instructions:  Please note the timeline and important deadlines! 

 

 

Required Paperwork

  • Online Charter Application via 4-H Online
  • 25-26 Texas 4-H Club Group Charter Agreement (Must be signed by Club Manager, a Fort Bend County Extension Agent, and ‘Club Treasurer’ (‘Club Treasurer’ signature only needed if club has a financial account) (‘Club Treasurer’ and Club Manager CANNOT be the same person)

The sample bylaws are developed to serve as a guide for clubs/groups to use in bylaw development and/or revision. Chartered clubs/groups have flexibility with their bylaws; however, the items in bold in the sample set are required to be in all bylaws.  Club/group bylaws should not conflict with the Texas 4-H Rules and Guidelines and/or the newly revised Charter Agreement.

Also needed, if the club has a financial account:
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN) Verification (New Club/Group with a Financial Account) (EIN How-To PowerPoint)
  • Bank Statement Club/group with a Financial Account

Bank statements uploaded as part of the chartering packet should not include copies of canceled checks and/or deposit slips. This is for security of the club/group account(s). Please note that the name on a 4-H club’s bank account should match the name of the 4-H club/group as well as the name on the EIN assignment letter. In order to avoid the application being sent back for corrections, please ensure that the financial review form is completed in its entirety.
