Our Club

What We Do

The Texas 4-H Veterinary Science Certificate Program (VSCP) is a nationally recognized curriculum that
prepares youth for careers in veterinary medicine. Through hands-on learning and mentorship, students
gain the skills and experience needed to become Certified Veterinary Assistants.

Program Highlights:

– 225 hours of supervised veterinary apprenticeship

-200 instructional hours (completed via independent study)

– Industry-based certification through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension

– Flexible learning: in-school, after-school, or independent study

– Opportunities to compete in the Veterinary Science Skill-a-Thon

FBC 4-H Veterinary Science Club Officer Applications

Full Application is due IN-PERSON to the 4-H Extension Office by January 23, 2025, at 3:00pm.

Club Officer Position Application 2026-2027

FBC 4-H Veterinary Science Club Officer Applications are NOW OPEN for the following positions:

  • President
  • 1st Vice President
  • 2nd Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Reporter
  • Parliamentarian
  • Health and Safety Officer
  • District Council Officer Delegate

Requirements:

  • 8th-12th grade applicants ONLY
  • Must be approved and active in 4-H Online for the 2025-2026 year
  • Must be currently enrolled in FBC 4-H Veterinary Club as a member OR must enroll in FBC 4-H Veterinary Science Club 4-H if selected (starting in January 2026)
  • 4-Hers can be enrolled in more than one club at a time. It is recommended to not exceed three clubs at a time
  • Current 12th grade applicants: Must commit to serving for the 2025-2026 year/term
  • January 2026-August 2026
  • Current 8th-11th grade applicants: Must commit to serving for the following terms:
  • 2025-2026 (January 2026-August 2026)
  • 2026-2027 (September 2026-August 2027)
  • If selected, must re-enroll in 4-H Online for the 2026-2027 year (starting in August 2026)
  • Does not apply to current 12th grade applicants
  • If selected, must re-enroll in the FBC 4-H Veterinary Science club for the 2026-2027 year
  • Does not apply to current 12th grade applicants
