Getting Started

This course is delivered via the Internet and video conference. You will need:

  • To be enrolled at Texas A&M University
  • Access to a video conference room at your location
  • A PC, Mac or other computer with minimum 512 MB RAM
  • A reliable high-bandwidth Web connection (LAN, cable modem or DSL)
  • A reliable E-mail address that supports attachments
  • The following free software:

Most materials for this course can be accessed from this Web site. The course schedule will guide you through the assignments for each week.

Communicating with the Instructor and Other Students

Materials for this course, including articles, can be accessed at http://agrilife.org/foodsforhealth/. To encourage critical thinking and reasoning abilities a social discussion forum is provided through the E-campus  http://ecampus.tamu.edu.  Students are encouraged to use this platform for participating in the class discussions posted every week.  To access the Facebook page :

  • Go to ecampus.tamu.edu using network id and password
  • After logging in, in the “search discussion”
  • Once you are added,  you will see  the class discussions and any new announcements.
