South Plains Ag conference and Tradeshow, Brownfield, January 21

Agricultural producers, crop advisors and consultants will have an opportunity to get the most up-to-date information regarding peanut disease management and production practices, cotton variety traits, cotton root knot nematode management,  and weed management from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Research Specialists during the South Plains Ag conference, Tuesday, January 21, 2014. The event will be held at the First Baptist Church in Brownfield located at 219 West Main. Registration will begin at 7:45AM and the program will begin promptly at 8:10AM.

Attendees will also be provided with an update of Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide laws and regulations as well as updates from the local Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the underground water conservation district. Six, Texas Department of Agriculture CEUs will be provide to pesticide applicator license holders.

A dozen commercial exhibits will showcase agricultural products for producers. Sponsors of the BBQ lunch include: Plains Cotton Growers, Birdsong Peanuts, Golden Peanuts, Texas Peanut Producers Board, Brownfield Farmer’s Coop and Carter and Company Irrigation.
