There are three types of volunteers; Those who serve as members of a board of directors, those who assist in providing direct face-to-face leadership or general supervision to programs, those who assist with administrative or support function. 15 Volunteerism has traditionally have been a major sources of additional fund for public recreation and parks in the United States, as many individuals and companies give their talent and time through volunteering. 9
