Texas Bottlenose Dolphins
Many marine mammal species call the Gulf of Mexico home, but the most ubiquitous is the bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus). We acquired multiple intestinal tracts collected from dead stranded bottlenose dolphins by the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network in Galveston, Texas, and are currently investigating their parasites. IF YOU EVER FIND A BEACHED MARINE MAMMAL IN TEXAS, PLEASE CALL 1-800-9-MAMMAL OR 1-800-862-6625 TO REPORT IT TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES!
