Joel Hambright is a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Forest Management. Joel began his career with the Texas A&M Forest Service in June of 1994 as a District Forester in Cleveland. He transferred to the District Forester position in the Huntsville District in 1999 and in 2004 he was promoted to SE Texas Regional Forester. Joel is a member of the Society of American Foresters and Texas Forestry Association and is an SAF Certified Forester. He was awarded the SAF Forestry Leadership Award in 1999 and has served as Chair of the Texas SAF Professional Recognition Committee since 2003.

In 2006 he was selected to participate in the Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange Program where he spent six weeks in Tasmania, Australia experiencing the culture and learning about Australian forestry. Outside of work, Joel enjoys the outdoors, Aggie athletics, and spending time with his family. He teaches 9th/10th grade boys Sunday School and is the Vice President of Huntsville Little Dribblers. Joel and his wife, Amy, reside in Huntsville with their three children, all adopted from Russia.
