2020 Master Volunteer entomology advanced training postponed

Due to current concerns with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID -19), we are not going to be holding an in person training for the master volunteer entomology advanced training in 2020.  We hope to return to in person trainings in 2021, but we are hoping to get a web training together for this year. Registration closed for 2017 Entomology class

Registration for the 2017 Entomology Specialist class is now closed. If you submitted an application you should be notified within the next week whether you have been selected for this year’s class.  We are sorry that we are not able to accommodate everyone interested in advanced entomology training this year. The MVES training is offered nearly every year, although the location changes each year.  Be sure to check here for information next spring, about next year’s class.

2017 Entomology Specialist Class Scheduled for Dallas

This year’s Entomology Specialist Training will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Center on Coit Road in north Dallas.  Scheduled for the week of September 18, exact dates and times have not been decided. This fall’s training will include local field trips to great collecting locations, and will feature a variety of guest trainers and past graduates of the course.  Mark your calendars and keep checking with this website for the latest information about the 2017 training class.

2016 Master Volunteer Entomology Specialist training scheduled

Looking back at the 2015 MVES Class

This year’s 2015 Master Volunteer Entomology Specialist (MVES) training class was held September 28th through October 2nd, 2015 at the Thomas Leroy Education Building at the Texas A&M AgriLife Montgomery County Extension Office, Conroe, TX. Like our first Conroe class in 2009, the event was hosted by the Montgomery County Master Gardeners Association. Twenty-nine current Master Gardeners and/or Texas Master Naturalists from 14 different Texas counties participated in the training. 2015 MVES Training in Conroe

This year’s MVES training class will be held in September in Conroe, TX.  Dr. Paul Nester will be this year’s host and is currently developing the 2015 agenda.  The last time training was offered in Conroe was in 2009, and the venue was outstanding.  Registration for the class will not take place until spring/summer of this year.  Keep posted here for more information as it becomes available.
