The East Texas Show Star Series is a series of species-specific clinics and prospect shows created to provide ‘hands-on’ educational opportunities for 4-H and FFA members to learn the basic principles of livestock management in relation to: project selection, facility maintenance, animal health, nutrition, handling, showmanship, and transportation. These opportunities are bolstered by the discussion of the “Quality Counts” program and principles; thereby, ensuring the safe, legal and ethical use of pharmaceutical products and chemicals in the development and exhibition of livestock projects.
Youth participating in the clinic will work with and exhibit their own animals in the show ring to continuously provide as much ‘hands-on’ learning as possible. Both the parents and the youth will also receive the benefits of learning from esteemed educators and top industry leaders in the exhibition animal world. Every youth attending this event will leave with a wealth of education; however, they will also be rewarded with prizes and items they can used in the development of their livestock projects.
