Major livestock show projects of steers, heifers, market lambs, market goats and swine must be validated and ear-tagged in the months of June, October and November. Ear tags for the major shows must be ordered prior to tagging dates. Market poultry orders are due in August for major livestock shows.<\/p>\n

Watch the 4-H newsletter and 4-H newspaper articles for information and updates regarding tag order dates and validation dates.<\/p>\n

Major Show Entry Night
\n<\/b>Major Show Entry Night, held at the Extension Office, is an opportunity for 4-H families to complete entry forms for major livestock shows. Changes to show rules and schedules will be discussed. A Notary Public will be on hand.<\/p>\n

Each exhibitor must have:
\n<\/b>Current 4-H Enrollment via 4-H Online
\nQuality Counts Verification Number<\/p>\n

Review each livestock show\u2019s website for possible changes in rules, requirements and schedules.

The 4-H member is responsible for qualifying under each livestock show\u2019s rules.<\/b><\/p>\n

Quality Counts<\/h2>\n

The newly updated Quality Counts system is now available to 4-H livestock exhibitors. The new curriculum has been designed to better equip our youth livestock exhibitors with the most relevant and timely information related to the livestock project area.\u00a0Focused on quality assurance and character education, Quality Counts is designed to teach young people the importance of displaying good character in carrying out livestock projects, and in every aspect of their lives.<\/p>\n

**There is a\u00a0very<\/em>\u00a0important one-pager\u00a0attached<\/em>\u00a0with detailed instructions of how students\u00a0should enroll\/login to the course.<\/p>\n

ALL EXHIBITORS<\/strong> will need to re-certify under the new system if you plan to show a livestock project at any major livestock show in Texas.<\/p>\n
