These experiences can be completed in project group meetings or individual study with parents and leaders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4-H Food Show<\/strong><br \/>\nThe county food show offers 4-H members an opportunity to show off skills and knowledge gained in the foods and nutrition project. 4-H members submit their recipe and project information sheet prior to the show. For the show, each participant prepares a dish from home and brings it to the contest. During the judging, 4-H members are asked questions on nutrition, food preparation and meal planning. The Wharton County 4-H Food Show is held in October of each 4-H year.<\/p>\n<p>First, second, and third place winners in the junior, intermediate, and senior divisions compete in the District 11 Food Show in December. Senior 4-H members placing first at district can compete at the State Food Show in June.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Food and Nutrition, check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/agrilife.org\/wharton4h\/files\/2010\/10\/Explore_FN_CookingInTheKitchen.pdf\">Texas 4-H Food &amp; Nutrition Explore Guide<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>4-H Food Challenge<\/strong><br \/>\nThis contest challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using only a predetermined set of ingredients.
