District 11 Recordbook Judging

The primary purpose of completing a recordbook is for a young person to develop the skills necessary to set goals, work toward achieving those goals, reflect on their experiences, and set new and higher goals for themselves.

The secondary benefit is to prepare young people for the process of completing quality academic scholarship applications.

The completed 4-H Recordbook must be submitted to the Wharton County Extension Office in early June. Each 4-H’er submitting a Recordbook at the County level are recognized at the Annual Awards Banquet in August.

First place books in each age division will advance to District level competition. Senior 4-H’ers who place first in District will advance to the State Recordbook competition.

Guidelines for the Texas 4-H Recordbook, plus all the required forms, are available online at the State 4-H website:

Also, remember to take pictures from start to finish on your projects so you will have a picture story for your books.
