Leaders 4 Life Skill-A-Thon Overview

Ages: Junior/Intermediate (Grades 3-8) and Senior (Grades 9-12).

This three-part competition lets you showcase your leadership skills! The first part of the competition is a 20 minute simulated 4-H meeting demonstrating Parliamentary Procedure conducted by you and 4-6 students in front of a panel of judges. The second part of the competition is a question and answer session with the judging panel. Each team is asked ten questions and each team member must answer at least one (but no more than three) questions. The third segment requires the team to submit a Service Learning Interpretation document. The document is not judged, rather it is used to prepare the judging panel to interview the team. In the document, provide 3-4 sentences outlining the Service Activity the group has conducted. The Judging Panel will interview the team to learn how the 8 Steps of Service Learning were utilized; 10 minute interview.

If you are interested in being part of a team, learning more about parliamentary procedure and developing your speaking skills, then L4L is for you!
