Until June-July-August (hopefully).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The percentage of the state under <\/span><b>drought conditions (D1-D4)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has alarmingly <\/span><b>increased from 49% to 68% in just four weeks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Extreme drought or worse<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has jumped from 17% to 29% during the same period, and <\/span><b>exceptional drought<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has more than doubled from 6.3% to 14%. Consequently, despite the localized flooding in the Lower Rio Grande Valley,, <\/span><b>almost the entire state experienced substantially less than normal rainfall for March 2025.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/westtexasrangelands\/files\/2025\/04\/2B.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2314 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/westtexasrangelands\/files\/2025\/04\/2B.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"715\" height=\"570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/westtexasrangelands\/files\/2025\/04\/2B.png 1480w, https:\/\/agrilife.org\/westtexasrangelands\/files\/2025\/04\/2B-300x239.png 300w, https:\/\/agrilife.org\/westtexasrangelands\/files\/2025\/04\/2B-1024x816.png 1024w, https:\/\/agrilife.org\/westtexasrangelands\/files\/2025\/04\/2B-768x612.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 715px) 100vw, 715px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The current <\/span><b>La Ni\u00f1a Advisory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is expected to be short-lived, with a high probability (62%) of transitioning to neutral conditions by late summer. The U.S. Seasonal Drought Outlook through May predicts continued drought or drought development for most of Texas, excluding the far east.
