As an urban and commercial educational program, Horticulture provides El Paso County residents with the latest research-based information.

We do this by utilizing the mass media, short courses, community volunteers, demonstrations, computer technology and telecommunications to teach Earth Kind practices. We not only deal with gardening, but also with water conservation, recycling and other environmental issues in order to make our community, and world, a little better.

El Paso Master Gardener Program

The El Paso County Master Gardener program is administered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to increase the availability of horticultural information for local residents through the participation of local volunteers. These volunteers complete 12 weeks of intensive horticulture training and then are required to volunteer time as they share with the community what they have learned through a number of gardening and educational projects.
