4-H Enrollment Info

Welcome to El Paso County 4-H!

Why Should I Enroll My Family in 4-H?

4-H is the youth development program of the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service and Prairie View A&M Cooperative Extension Service that focuses on the needs, concerns & interests of youth.  Its aim is to help youth gain a positive self-concept,  increase positive rational social behavior, increase knowledge and problem-solving capabilities through planned individual pr0jects, meetings, group activities and participation in different events.  Members develop new skills, learn cooperation, develop leadership abilities, improve their citizenship and best of all have fun.

What are the different ways to Participate in 4-H?

Youth can participate in 4-H programs via 4-H clubs, short term project groups, and other 4-H activities.

  •  4-H Clubs are organized groups that meet at regularly scheduled time and place with volunteer leaders and elected youth officers.  Clubs usually meet once a month, although some meet more frequently.  Several types of clubs can be organized:  community clubs, project clubs which are organized around a common interest of the youth, and a school club which is organized in a public or private school.
  • Short-Term Groups work on a specific project which are usually completed in 6 or more meetings.  Two major types of short terms groups are school curriculum enrichment projects and special interest projects.
