The lawsuit claims the law is invalid under the Commerce Clause.\u00a0 According to the lawsuit, less than 1% of pork produced in the US currently\u00a0 meets the Proposition 12 standards. [Read article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmprogress.com\/hog\/nppc-farm-bureau-file-legal-challenge-californias-prop-12?NL=WFP-01&amp;Issue=WFP-01_20191209_WFP-01_402&amp;sfvc4enews=42&amp;cl=article_1_b&amp;utm_rid=CPG02000000698385&amp;utm_campaign=44721&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;elq2=ed9c2ec4345e423a875b35adfce90c8a\">here<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Injunction issued in Iowa &#8220;Ag Gag&#8221; case.<\/strong>\u00a0 You may recall from <a href=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/texasaglaw\/2019\/01\/21\/ag-gag-litigation-update\/\">this prior blog post<\/a> that there is a pending legal challenge to Iowa&#8217;s &#8220;ag gag&#8221; law.\u00a0 The trial court ruled the law unconstitutional, and the State of Iowa has appealed.\u00a0 Now, a federal judge has issued an injunction preventing the law from being forced during the appeals process.
