supports appeal of prior dismissal.\u00a0<\/strong> Litigation continues over the Permian Basin pipeline, which will run from the Permian, through the Hill Country (including Hays County) to the Houston Ship Channel.\u00a0 The Hays County Commissioners voted this week to join a lawsuit led by the Travis Audubon Society and several other plaintiffs against the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Kinder Morgan.\u00a0 This new lawsuit will focus on alleged violations of the Endangered Species Act and seek a full environmental impact study under the National Environmental Policy Act.\u00a0 With regard to the prior lawsuit that was filed against the Texas Railroad Commission and recently dismissed (<a href=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/texasaglaw\/2019\/06\/28\/june-28-2019-weekly-round-up\/\">prior blog post here<\/a>), an appeal looks likely based on the Hays County vote and statements made by plaintiff Andrew Sansom.\u00a0 [Read article <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/austin\/san-marcos-buda-kyle\/editors-pick\/2019\/07\/16\/hays-county-to-join-second-legal-action-against-permian-highway-pipeline\/\">here<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p><strong>*USDA announces federal hemp regulations will be completed in August.<\/strong>\u00a0 The federal rules for domestic hemp production will be done by August according to the United States Department of Agriculture.\u00a0 This is ahead of schedule as previously rules were expected in early 2020.\u00a0 [Read article <a href=\"https:\/\/hempindustrydaily.com\/usda-says-production-rules-will-be-ready-by-august\/\">here<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Upcoming Programs<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>July is a little quieter, but I&#8217;ve got lots of programs coming up this fall!\u00a0 Be sure to check out my list of upcoming programs <a href=\"https:\/\/nri.tamu.edu\/blog\/2019\/june\/hunting-license-no-longer-required-to-hunt-wild-pigs-in-texas\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a busy week on the ag law front in Texas.\u00a0 Here are some of the stories in the news this week. *Texas water battle featured in Wall Street Journal.\u00a0 A water fight in Pecos County was featured in a Wall Street Journal article this week.\u00a0 The article does a good job illustrating the tensions between landowners, agricultural producers, oil and gas companies, and Texas law.\u00a0 [Read article here.] *New law allows killing feral hogs without hunting license.\u00a0 As of September 1, 2019, no hunting license is&#8230;
