I am very excited to announce my newest project, a podcast discussing agricultural law titled, “Ag Law in the Field.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

What the heck is a podcast? \u00a0<\/strong>Well, it’s sort of like a radio show that you can listen to on your phone or computer, rather than on the radio. \u00a0Each week, I will interview a guest about an agricultural law topic. \u00a0We’ll cover it all…in just our first few episodes we are talking “Waters of the United States,” advice for folks considering law school, family, and divorce law for farm and ranch families, whether incorporation is right for your ranch, and more. \u00a0Also planned we have discussions about hanging out your own shingle as a small town attorney, the probate process in Texas, issues impacting the dairy industry, class action litigation, and farm and ranch estate\/succession planning.<\/p>\n

When will it be available?<\/strong>\u00a0 I plan to release one episode a week, with the new episode coming out each Thursday. \u00a0Each episode will last around 30 minutes and you can listen whenever you have time. \u00a0They will be archived on iTunes, the Podcast app on your iPhone, and on the computer.<\/p>\n

Where do I listen?<\/strong> \u00a0You’ve got a couple of options.<\/p>\n

If you want to listen on your computer, you can do that by just clicking here<\/a>. \u00a0On this website, you’ll find each episode, which you can play, along with our show notes that will provide you links to anything we discuss during the episode.<\/p>\n

If you want to listen by phone (this is my favorite…I listen while I run or drive or wash dishes after the kiddos are asleep), you can do this two ways with an iPhone. \u00a0First, you can find the “Podcast” app. \u00a0It’s purple with a white guy on it, like this:<\/p>\n

Click on the app and you’ll see a “Search” option in the lower right corner. \u00a0Just type in “Ag Law in the Field” and it will pull up the podcast. \u00a0You can then click “Subscribe” and it will keep my podcast on your list and you can listen to any episode.<\/p>\n

You may also find the podcast in iTunes by just searching for “Ag Law in the Field.”<\/p>\n

When can I start listening?<\/strong> \u00a0The first three episodes are available now! \u00a0Episode 1 <\/a>is just a short introduction to the podcast. Episode #2<\/a> is my interview with Kyle Weldon, a 2nd year law student at Texas A&M University School of Law. \u00a0Episode #3<\/a> features Texas attorney Jim Bradbury and our topic of discussion is the ever popular WOTUS. \u00a0Episode #4 will be out on Thursday and will feature my friend Cari Rincker talking prenups, divorce, and family law for farmers and ranchers.<\/p>\n

Where do I get more information?<\/strong> \u00a0Each episode will have show notes. \u00a0These notes will include a description of each episode, along with contact information for each speaker, and links to anything that we talked about in that episode of the show. \u00a0Show notes for each episode may be found by clicking here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Who helped you get this all together?<\/strong> \u00a0They say it takes a village to raise a child, I can tell you the same is true for launching a podcast! \u00a0I want to say a huge thanks to my friend and colleague Paul Goeringer at the University of Maryland for helping me with many of the technical issues. \u00a0I also really appreciate my friends who helped with the graphics–Annie McCauley took my photograph and Rozann Lee designed the graphics for each episode. \u00a0And last, but certainly not least, a big thanks to my buddy and Las Cruces-based music artist Tell Runyan <\/a>who graciously volunteered to record the intro music for the podcast. \u00a0(If you need entertainment for an event, give him a call, seriously.)<\/p>\n
