results of a cash rents survey conducted between February and July 2014.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/agrilife.org\/texasaglaw\/files\/2014\/09\/milo-red.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pastureland:\u00a0 $6.50\/acre (unchanged from 2013).<\/li>\n<li>Non-irrigated cropland:\u00a0 $27.00 (up from $24.00 in 2013).<\/li>\n<li>Irrigated cropland:\u00a0 $87.00 (up from $82.00 in 2013).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report also breaks the cash rent averages down by district.\u00a0\u00a0The Blacklands and Upper Coast reported the highest lease rate for pastureland at $12.00 per acre, while the Trans-Pecos region reported the lowest, at $1.40 per acre.\u00a0 For non-irrigated cropland, the highest rates were found in the\u00a0Coastal Bend region at $54.00 per acre and the lowest in the Trans-Pecos at 10.50 per acre.\u00a0 \u00a0Lastly, with regard to irrigated cropland the Northern High Plains region reported the highest rates at $105.00 per acre, while the Upper Coast reported the lowest rates of %55.50 per acre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2086\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a by county as well as reporting planted acres, harvested acres, yield per acre and total production of various crops.\u00a0 The statistics for each county in Texas may be accessed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nass.usda.gov\/Statistics_by_State\/Texas\/Publications\/County_Estimates\/ce_pdf.htm\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 El Paso County reported the highest rental rates for irrigated cropland at $151.00 per acre, the highest for non-irrigated cropland and pastureland\u00a0was reported by Willacy County at $58.50 per acre and $17.00 per acre, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, it is important for all agricultural leases to be in writing.\u00a0 I have prepared a checklist for negotiating written <a href=\"http:\/\/agrilife.org\/texasaglaw\/2014\/05\/01\/texas-grazing-lease-checklist-available\/\">grazing leases <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/agrilife.org\/texasaglaw\/2014\/05\/11\/texas-hunting-lease-checklist-available\/\">hunting leases<\/a>, and hope to have a similar publication for the negotiation of farm leases by
