“How do I go about finding an agricultural lawyer?”<\/p>\n

This is a question I am commonly asked by rural landowners and agricultural producers across the country.\u00a0 While there is no single list or database to turn to, there are a few resources to help.\u00a0 We have compiled these resources and suggestions in a new fact sheet<\/a>.\u00a0 You can download the fact sheet for free here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also, do keep in mind a couple of key considerations when selecting any attorney.\u00a0 First, make sure the attorney is licensed in your jurisdiction.\u00a0 Second, ensure the attorney has experience in the area for which you are hiring them.\u00a0 For example, I would not hire an environmental regulatory lawyer to handle a divorce.\u00a0 Third, make sure the attorney is someone with whom you are comfortable communicating.\u00a0 It is critical for you to give your attorney all pertinent information, and equally as important that you can understand the advice and counsel the attorney provides to you in return.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
