He discussed a proposed rule from the Securities and Exchange Commission on climate-related disclosures and how the requirement could have major impacts on agriculture.\u00a0 [Read article <a href=\"https:\/\/southernagtoday.org\/2022\/09\/the-securities-and-exchange-commission-proposed-climate-related-disclosures-and-unintended-consequences\/\">here.<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><strong>*EPA sued over alleged FOIA violations.<\/strong>\u00a0 The Center for Food Safety has files suit against the Environmental Protection Agency claiming that the EPA violated the Freedom of Information Act by failing to timely provide information requested by the Center for Food Safety related to the agency&#8217;s report on dicamba.\u00a0 The suit also alleges that the EPA withheld public records from the report. [Read article <a href=\"https:\/\/lawstreetmedia.com\/news\/agriculture\/epa-sued-by-center-for-food-safety-over-dicamba-related-foia-issues\/\">here<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p><strong>*Ag groups allowed to intervene in grey wolf delisting lawsuit.<\/strong>\u00a0 The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit recently granted a motion to allow several ag groups to intervene in a lawsuit to defend the Trump administration&#8217;s delisting of the grey wolf from the Endangered Species Act. In February, a federal district court ruled that the US Fish and Wildlife Service should not have removed ESA protections for the grey wolf.\u00a0 In that ligation, the district court denied the ag groups motion to intervene. The Ninth Circuit found this denial to be an abuse of discretion. The agricultural groups now participating as intervenors in the litigation are the National Cattlemen&#8217;s Beef Association, Public Lands Council, American Sheep Industry Association, and the American Farm Bureau Federation.\u00a0 They will participate in the appeal of the lower court&#8217;s decision that the grey wolf should not have been removed.\u00a0 [Read article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmprogress.com\/farm-policy\/ag-groups-can-intervene-gray-wolf-lawsuit?NL=SEFP-01&amp;Issue=SEFP-01_20220826_SEFP-01_573&amp;sfvc4enews=42&amp;cl=article_5&amp;utm_rid=CPG02000000698080&amp;utm_campaign=70435&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;elq2=ad26a429016242a2891b8b3dfb1f2e2f&amp;sp_eh=106890a768b20d3416a11199e053523fc02ec5e24c7e7f05b665a994aee074ff\">here<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p><strong>*Supreme Court asked to consider animal identification advisory committees.<\/strong>\u00a0 The New Civil Liberties Alliance filed a Petition for Certiorari with the US Supreme Court asking the high court to take\u00a0<em>R-Calf USA\u00a0v.
